Welcome to MS KELLY'S CLASS

IN JUNIOR INFANTS, WE LEARN THROUGH PLAY!

Rosie's amazing animals.

As part of Science week, Rosie came to visit us and ahe brought some.amazing animals to meet us.
We learned so many interesting facts..
Did you know that a baby hare is called a leverit. This little baby hare was only 3 weeks old and he hopped and he bounced all over our carpet hall. Rosie gave him his bottle and we loved seeing him stand up tall.

We also met a cute meerkat, he was a little frightened of us, and we met a lovely chincilla named Oreo. Oreo had no.problem with us petting him and holding him.
The boys and girls were so brave when Rosie took out her snakes.

Happy halloween

Autumn walks

Today we went on a wall around our school grounds. We searched for leaves, acorns, pinecones, berries, sticks and fungi.
Learning outdoors is so much fun.

Puzzling patterns

This week, we have been learning about patterns. Patterns are all around us. You can make a pattern skth colours or you can make a pattern with objects.
We have been learning how to make a pattern with two colours.

We made patterns with toys, with people and even with paint. Can you make a pattern using your favourite colours?

Some very clever children went home and created patterns at home!

We learn best through play!

Young Children learn best through play and social Interaction. In Junior Infants, we spend much of our day engaging in playful activities such as sorting, matching, singing, dancing, playing games and Aistear.

Aistear is an Early Childhood Framework for learning. This month our theme has been Me, Myself and My Family. See below some of the fun activities we have been doing!

FUNKY FINGERS!

Junior Infants is all about building our funky finger muscles to get them ready for writing! In our class, we complete new activities every morning. We love building stacks of cheerios and making pictures with the pegs. Using the tweezers to pick up the pom poms is tricky, but we are getting really good at sorting them into different groups. This week, we are learning how to use a scissors. It is important to follow the safety scissors rules. Look at Faheem show us how to hand a scissors to somebody! Look at Grace show us how to hold the scissors when we are ready to cut!
