Junior infants have been channeling their inner 'Bob the Builder' the past two weeks. We have been drawing plans, making small scale buildings and creating materials to complete the big build.
Farming fun in Junior Infants! We have been busy learning all about the farm the past few weeks!
The best way to learn is by doing! Junior infants are currently learning about procedural writing. We made our own popcorn and wrote our own step by step guide to making popcorn. We also made some popcorn art!
Winter Science- We learned that penguins have a special oil on their coat which stops them from getting wet.
Doctor's Surgery- Our Aistear theme for November is the doctor's surgery. We have been getting to grips with the roles of doctor, nurse, receptionist and sick patient. We have also been making the doctor's tools out of play dough, making doctor's bags and playing hide and seek with our new vocabulary!
Visit from Cricket Ireland! We has great fun on Tuesday learning about cricket and practising our new cricket skills.
It is getting spooky in Junior Infants..
We have been learning about apples! The children used lollipop sticks and balanced Pom poms on them.
3 Little Pigs- Junior Infants tried really hard to use bricks, sticks and straw to make the houses mentioned in the story. We then tested how strong they were by using a blow dryer to see which houses could withstand the wind!
Friendship week! It is friendship week this week in SAJ. To celebrate, Ms. Smyth’s class read ‘Elmer’ and created some art based on this. The message we gathered from the story was that whilst we are all different, we come together to make something really special!
