Discovery Primary Science/STEM
We are celebrating “Science Week 2019” from Tuesday 26th of March until Tuesday the 2nd of April.  As you know we have won the Discovery Primary Science Award for Maths and Science excellence for a number of years and we look forward to sending in our application this year.

This year we will be working towards SFI (Science Foundation Ireland) Plaque of STEM as part of the Discovery Primary Science and Maths programme.  The criteria for achieving this award has changed and this year there are five steps in the process. Step one – Science, Step two-Technology, Step three – Engineering, Step four-Maths and Step five- Stem Show and Tell. (STEM)

During our Science Week all classes will complete hands on experiments related to the topics of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.  We will have our Science Day on the 2nd of April and all classes will have the opportunity to set up a Science display and complete demonstrations, experiments and investigations for their Parents and members of the local community.  Past pupils from Scoil Aonghusa Senior have also been invited.  (See timetable in dates for your diary)

Science Day is always a very enjoyable day in our school. In Scoil Aonghusa Junior we have a great tradition and love for all things Science!
